The Protist/Moneran Kingdom

Protists and monerans are single-celled organisms. Protista have a nucleus that is surrounded by cell membrane, and therefore are eukaryotic. Monera on the other hand do not have a nucleus, and that makes them prokaryotes. Both of them are microscopic and are called microorganisms. They also  cannot be classified as animals, plants, or fungi due to the fact that protists are put in the protista kingdom because they are not anything else, and monerans because they are not multi-cellular, and mostly do not fit in any other kingdom. A protist is a protist when it is not any of the other kingdoms, which makes this kingdom unique, because there are no bonds between all of the protista other than the fact that they are all single celled. Monerans are any single celled organisms that do not have a nucleus surrounded by cell membrane. Due to the fact that protists have many other kingdom characteristics, there are many attempts to remove “protists” from modern taxonomy and these attempts have failed, as the protista kingdom lives on.
