Taxonomy

So many organisms, so little knowledge. What can we do to study them better? This is where taxonomy comes in. Taxonomy helps biologists classify living organisms. There are 7 basic taxonomic ranks, which are kingdom, phylum, class, order, family, genus and species (ranked from highest to lowest). There are two higher ranks than kingdom,  which are life and domain, but are uncommonly used. Here is the classification of a human and a classification song:

Kingdom: Animalia

Phylum: Chordata

Class: Mammalia

Order: Primates

Family: Hominidae

Geunus: Homo

Species: Homo Sapiens
