The Plant Kingdom

Most plants are either vascular plants or non-vascular plants. Vascular plants (e.g. trees, bushes, flowers, etc.) have a vascular system that help them transport minerals and water through the whole plant. The two tissues that help transport water and minerals are the xylems and the phloems. The xylem mainly helps the plant tranport water through its body but it could also transport nutrients. The phloem transports minerals and nutrients. Vascular plants can grow very tall. Non-vascular plants (e.g. moss, liverworts) do not have a vascular system. This means that these plants do not have special tissues. There are still simpler tissues that transport water. These plants are small and simple.
